If you subscribe, we collect your email address to send the curriculum guide updates you ask for: added subjects, substantial updates and important corrections. An email address is required for this. If you also tick the separate option and confirm, we may send occasional information about other Pursue Learning resources and products for educators. Nothing is sent until you confirm by email, and you can unsubscribe from either at any time using the link in our emails.
Feedback answers help improve the guide. Feedback doesn't ask for your name or school. Your suggestion, role and reply email are optional, but a suggestion or role could still identify you, so please leave out names, student details and confidential information. If you leave an email and tick the permission box, Eliot may contact you about that feedback. Feedback does not subscribe you to any emails.
With each response we record the time, the part of the guide you were reading, the guide version and, if the link you used had one, a general campaign label. For subscriptions we also record the wording you agreed to and when you confirmed or unsubscribed, so we can show what you asked for.
Responses and subscription records are stored privately using Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Confirmation and update emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service run by a United States company, which processes your address and the emails it sends; see Resend's privacy policy. When you open the signup form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks your browser, using details such as your IP address and browser information, to prevent abuse of the form; the feedback form does not use it. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy addendum. These services may store and process information outside New Zealand. We don't publish individual responses or use them as testimonials. We may use AI tools to help us summarise feedback answers. We never put email addresses into AI tools, and we remove names or other identifying details from feedback first.
Signup requests that are never confirmed, and requests that only told you that you were already subscribed (they record no new agreement), are deleted after 30 days, with their delivery details. If you leave a reply email with your feedback, we delete it once Eliot has replied, or after 12 months, whichever comes first. Your feedback answers are kept.
When you unsubscribe, we remove the part of the guide you were reading, the guide version and any campaign label from your records. We keep the record of what you agreed to (the version and wording, when you asked, confirmed and unsubscribed, and the delivery details below) for 2 years after you unsubscribe from that kind of email, then delete it. If you unsubscribe again without confirming a new signup in between, the 2 years still count from the first time. While you still receive, or are confirming, any of these emails, we keep the whole record. We keep your email address, the kind of email you unsubscribed from and the date for as long as we send these emails, so we can honour your choice not to be emailed.
For each request we also keep delivery details: how many times we tried to send its email, the time of the latest try, a short error code if a try failed, whether our email service accepted it, and the service's message id. A separate send log used for our sending limits (the time of each try and whether it was accepted, rejected because of the address, or failed on our side) is deleted after 2 days. With each form we keep a keyed fingerprint of your answers, which only lets us recognise the same form being sent twice; it cannot be used to look up your answers or address. The delivery details and fingerprint stay with the request record and are deleted with it. A feedback fingerprint is deleted with its reply email. If you ask us to erase your information, we delete your email address and subscription records, and remove any feedback that identifies you.
